Memory tip for 12th of May 2011

Today I want to come back to the topic of remembering names. I wanted to stress one specific aspect which I left behind when I dealt with the topic a few weeks ago. As well as forgetting words, forgetting names is another acute thing in our daily lives. On the whole, lots of things are blocked in our memories because we do not take time to remember things properly.

We should have one thing in mind: it is much easier to remember a person’s face than to remember his/her name. By knowing this information you can improve your faculty of remembering names. So, when you meet a person for the first time you have to integrate this ability to remember an image with the person’s whom you meet name.

You should be able to connect these two the first moment the person says his/her name. There are a number of ways to do it, but the best thing you should do is to repeat the person’s name by looking into his/her face. This will combine the face with the name at once. Audio remembering facility will be connected with visual remembering facility. When you say goodbye to a person, try to remind yourself the person’s name again. These tips will help you not to forget the person’s name.
