Memory tip for 11th of April 2011

Yesterday I told you how important are exaggerations of visual images that you create in order to remember something. Today I want to give you this tip for improving your memory: listen to classical music while you are learning something by heart or trying to remember some information. Scientists have found that classical music has a very positive effect on the process of learning. If you find music a little bit disturbing you can regulate the sound to make it more comfortable for you to concentrate and remember.

In fact, you can start doing some memory exercises by simply learning to remember words of the songs you are listening to. Of course, if it is classical music there might not be any words, but classical music is just one of many choices. You can listen to any calm music and it will have a similar effect on your mnemonic powers. Unfortunately, rock music will never have a desirable impact in the process of memorizing. I hope you see why this is so. So, if you wonder how you can start improving memory, try this tip. I hope it will inspire you not to stop here, but go on to more advanced mnemonic techniques.
