Memory tip for 12th of April 2011

Yesterday I discussed how you can apply classical or simply calm music to enhance your possibilities of improving your memory. My tip for today is: focus your attention on what you are studying. I guess I had to give this tip when I wrote about importance of taking interest in what you are studying. Anyway, we human beings cannot concentrate on too many things at a time. It is usually one thing that we can concentrate on and do it properly. It is said, that women can concentrate their attention on a few things at a time, but real life shows that doing a few things at a time puts quality of your work in danger.

So, if you have decided to train your memory for 15 minutes a day, please don’t allow other thoughts to disrupt you from doing your memory practices. You cannot expect the material you study to reach long term memory if you do not concentrate on the stuff. It is possible to push the information to short term memory if you don’t give your whole attention, but no chances to remember the stuff for a long time if your focus is divided.
