Memory tip for 24th of April 2011

Today I want to give you a little bit unusual tip on how to improve your memory. It is: retain positive attitude about improving your memory and never use negative words about your progress. This is a psychological tip. Very often we sabotage our efforts of improving ourselves in any field (not only memory) by constantly repeating how little progress we make and how bad we are at this or that. Brains receive this kind of information as a command to decrease your mental power (power to remember) and after some time you will notice that your progress slows down.

So, never speak yourself down. Retain a positive approach even if you think that you are too slow. Allow yourselves to make mistakes in the field. Time will come when you are able to remember hundreds on items on your list without major difficulties. Even if you forget to do your daily memory practices, don’t be hard on yourself. It happens to everybody. Positive approach is a key to success in any kind of field, especially in mnemonics. When you feel very bad about your results, just try to remember how much you could remember before you started developing your memory and how much and how fast you can remember now.
